Owner's Representative
Independent representation for new builds and major refits. One accountable lead coordinating designers, shipyard team, surveyors and crew. Safeguarding your timeline, quality and investment. Certified Owner's Representative (YORP)
An Owner’s Representative is an independent professional who acts solely in the owner’s interest during a new build or major refit. Unlike the shipyard’s project manager (who works for the yard), the Owner’s Representative works for the owner. We coordinate the shipyard, designers, suppliers, surveyors and crew, protecting your timeline, budget and quality through clear communication, structured decision making and documented reporting. Working alongside technical specialists where required, we ensure the yacht is delivered as specified, with a smooth handover and warranty follow-up.

FAQ
We act solely for the owner during a new build or refit, coordinating the shipyard, designers, suppliers and specialists. We protect your timeline, budget and quality through structured communication, reporting, and documented decisions.
The shipyard’s project manager works for the yard. The Owner’s Representative works for you, monitoring progress independently, challenging issues early, and ensuring the owner’s requirements are delivered as agreed.
Ideally from the very beginning, before shipyard selection or contract finalisation. The earlier we are involved, the more we can influence specification, timeline, budget structure and risk control.
No. We coordinate with them. Surveyors handle technical inspections, lawyers handle legal matters, and the captain ensures operational input. We keep everything aligned and moving as one project team.
Yes. We attend major milestones and inspections as required (either directly or with delegated specialists) then provide written reports with photos and next steps.
Usually as a phase-based fee (e.g., design/spec, build oversight, delivery) or a monthly retainer during active periods. We define scope and deliverables clearly up front.
Commission with Confidence
Request a confidential Owner’s Representative consultation. Tell us about your build or refit, and we will provide a clear proposal detailing scope of representation, reporting structure, and next steps.
